20. Governing Law
20.1 Applicable Law
These Terms and any dispute, claim, or matter arising out of or relating to Oiko.jp, its products, services, or your use of the platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
20.2 Consumer Protection
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or region of residence. Where mandatory laws provide additional rights or remedies that cannot be waived, those rights will apply.
20.3 Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to contact our Help & Support page first so we can try to resolve any issue informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the governing law and jurisdiction set out below, except where a mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
20.4 Courts and Jurisdiction
Subject to applicable mandatory law, the courts with jurisdiction in Japan shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Oiko.jp.
20.5 International Customers
If you access or use Oiko.jp from outside Japan, you are responsible for complying with the laws of your country. We acknowledge that your use of the platform may also be subject to other applicable laws, and that some products or services may not be available in your country.
20.6 Business and Seller Agreements
Additional or different governing law and dispute resolution terms may apply to sellers, business customers, or certain services, and will be set out in separate agreements (e.g., Seller Agreement or enterprise contracts). In the event of a conflict, those specific agreements will prevail for the applicable service.
